Since v8.1.2 the merging window is no longer modal. Therefor a new gui could be implemented, supporting drag and drop to an active ig window. It could create a more interactive environment in contrast to the relatively static 'selecting' of otft's.
Perhaps expressions could be drag and dropped as well. This would combine the other suggestions. Perhaps a second IG window should be used instead of the merge wizard window?
