I rare occasions the IG may get corrupt. We've solved it by rebuilding the internal table indexes upon load. You may check if this is applicable to your IG, by trying to import the IGX as xml file. If the edits are enabled after you imported the igx instead of opening the ig, this ticket applies to you.
