Sometimes background processing takes a long time. The user sits and waits, not knowing what's going on, or how to abort. A system timeout would be helpful in those rare cases.
short inquiry tasks have a timeout of 15 seconds, and other java jobs have a timeout of 30 seconds. Perhaps in the future the user should be prompted, or given a configurable choice.
