CaseTalk is a conceptual modeling tool that implements the method FCO-IM (Fully Communication Oriented Information modeling Homepage of FCO-IM). It uses natural language in the form of fact expressions with concrete examples to build a conceptual information model. This conceptual model can then be transformed into various technological notations, such as scripts for database creation. These expressions can be considered as business assertions.

E.g.: The fact "John Doe lives in New York." is an example for "City of residence". These expressions form the conceptual information model from which databases (and other technology artifacts) may be created.

The early research prototype 'FCO-IM CASE Tool' was developed at 'HAN University' in the Netherlands in the 90's and beyond Publications. The professional maintenance and support was handed over to a small company called BCP Software in 2001 and made it available under the name CaseTalk. CaseTalk is the only maintained and supported CASE tool that supports FCO-IM. Alternative methods of Fact Oriented Modeling are CogNIAM and ORM which come with their own tools such as DocTool and NORMA by Terry Halpin.
