'''Note:''' If in need to change ownership of OTFTs, both model files needs to be local files. The new ''Merge From Server'' functionality does not allow altering the ownership, since that requires local files to be saved in order to store the new ownership state.
'''Note:''' To be able to alter ownership of OTFTs, both repository files need to on disk and may not be in use by another instance of CaseTalk running. This is due to the ownership change will update both repository files during the merge. Merging with a model from the server will not upload any altered ownership, therefor this change is disabled. Similarly the local file which is in use by another instance, might result in different save operations at the risk of loosing changes.

Merging models

Information model parts may be re-used in other models. For this one needs to open the target model, and select the "File\Merge Another Repository".

This will then bring forward a window with wizard to select the source project, model file, and which fact types you wish to import.

  • Select a project
  • Select a model file (if more than one)
  • Select diagrams to be copied (if any)
  • Select the required Object/Fact/Label Types to copy (You will notice other required OTFT's being checked automatically.)
  • An analysis will be made if the selection can be merged or not
  • Options may be tweaked per selected OTFT (Overwrite details, Namespace Reference)

Note: To be able to alter ownership of OTFTs, both repository files need to on disk and may not be in use by another instance of CaseTalk running. This is due to the ownership change will update both repository files during the merge. Merging with a model from the server will not upload any altered ownership, therefor this change is disabled.
