Bookmarks and UIRs

CaseTalk supports bookmarks inside its projects. This can be simply made my selecting a desired item to navigate back to at a later time, and use the menu 'Bookmark\Create Bookmark'. If this bookmark is to be pasted as a URI or link elsewhere, a MsWord Document for instance, you should select 'Bookmark\Copy Bookmark'.

If ever wanting to navigate back to this item of interest, simply go to the bookmark in the same menu. The URIs pasted in places outside of CaseTalk, will require a CaseTalk installation, but they will start with 'casetalk:' instead of 'https:'.

Once clicked, CaseTalk will open the relevant project and files, and return to the selected item.

Portal

The portal obviously uses the traditional 'http' URIs, since it is a web application. But in different places in the portal pages, you may find the 'Open in Desktop', which activates the 'casetalk:' URIs and if CaseTalk is installed, it'll instruct it to navigate to the proper files.

Combining URIs to CaseTalk, the Portal, to external webpages or the other way around, create an intricate web of links which integrate external documents and fact based models in CaseTalk. The user interface of CaseTalk contains various context menus, and as soon as a URI is detected in the annotation of an information element, or in the custom attributes, the 'Go To' submenu will instantly and easily allow the user to navigate those URIs to external and internal sources.
