The legend on a diagram tells you too little about what you are looking at.

Icons: the legend was meant to explain the markers an element carries - valid time, transaction time, transitional, artificial key, external namespace, localized labels, meta level, annotatable, task status and the ELM or ArchiMate concept type - but in practice almost none of them showed up. As soon as one element on the diagram lacked a given marker, that marker disappeared from the legend again, even while other elements were still showing it. What did survive was labelled by its internal icon key rather than by its meaning, so an ArchiMate business actor read as 'Am business actor', and the marker for valid time read as 'Future'.

Concepts and containers were listed with an icon of their own, which explains nothing: they are drawn as plain blocks, without any distinguishing mark on the diagram.

Colors: a diagram painted with the named custom colors gave no key to what those colors mean. On top of that, a color handpicked in the color dialog that ended up a fraction beside the named one was treated as a different color altogether and silently dropped out of the legend, even though the two are indistinguishable on screen.
