| Summary | 0005699: New Project dialog gives no feedback on where the project lands or how conflicts are handled | ||||
| Description | When creating a new project, the dialog does not show where the project file will actually be created, nor what it will do if the chosen folder already contains files or already holds a project of the same name. The user only finds out after pressing OK - for example that the project was placed in an automatically created subfolder, or that an existing project would be overwritten. This makes the outcome hard to predict and risks surprising the user. | ||||

The New Project dialog now shows a live preview as you type the project name or pick a folder. It spells out the exact file that will be created and tells you up front which step it will take to keep your existing data safe: creating a new folder, placing the project in a subfolder when the chosen folder already contains files, or that an existing project of the same name will be overwritten. Long paths remain readable via the field hint. |
