CaseTalk Modeler is the centerpiece of our productline. It enables you to precisely capture the business expert knowledge using a method called fact oriented modeling. This is a conceptual modeling method, free of any technological bias. It captures knowledge in natural language format, also called "Data Modeling by Example".
Though no technical bias exists in the method, CaseTalk is capable of generating technological artefacts. And all these artefacts enable users to verbally validate every step of the way. This really brings the I (Information) and T (Technology) together as one. The business people can now both specify and validate the information model in their own language.
CaseTalk requires verbalizing knowledge in natural language using concrete examples, also know as facts. Among the technical artefacts are various flavours of diagramming using the CaseTalk Viewer. These diagrams are assembled by simple drag and drop functionality. CaseTalk enables even more expressive power through support for free format text documents in which live hotlinks are maintained.
CaseTalk is build upon the solid and elegant theory called "Fully Communication Oriented Information Modelling", abbreviated as FCO-IM. It is the most prominent successor of a well known method called "NIAM". You can read more about that in various articles, or on our wiki pages . Originally it presented a novel way of database modeling, yet it evolved as a verbal method of generic information modeling.
